Evan Aguilar
Evan serves as the Music Director of Immanuel. He grew up in a Presbyterian Church and has led music in worship for a variety of congregations. Evan is an educator at heart and has been teaching with Albuquerque Public Schools since graduating from the University of New Mexico College of Fine Arts with a Bachelors in Music Education. Evan is also the Choral and Piano teacher at Cibola High School.
At Immanuel, Evan directs the choir and leads music in worship as the heartbeat and rhythm-keeper of our services. He is interested in community-building, creating culture, collaborations, and encouraging everyone to find a musical role in the congregation and/or community.
Evan loves teaching and being around music, whether listening to it or making it. He enjoys getting to know people, spending time with family, and playing a rare video game session with his cousins.
Evan's aim is to learn something new every day.
Rev. Trey Hammond
Trey serves as the Parish Associate of Immanuel. After retiring from neighboring La Mesa Presbyterian Church in 2021 following twenty plus years as their pastor, Trey chose to call Immanuel his home church. For decades, Trey has been a servant leader, community builder, pastor, organizer, a lover of urban communities and their people. For Trey, congregational transformation and serving the larger community go hand in hand.
As Parish Associate, Trey shares in worship leadership, pastoral care, and congregational formation. He partners with his colleagues and the congregation in building a new way of being church here at Immanuel.
When he is not serving one of the many community boards on which he is still active, Trey loves being on a river fly fishing or off on some travel adventure to who knows where. Trey is committed to the Albuquerque community, enjoys all things Celtic, and loves calling Immanuel home.
Rev. Drew Henry
Drew has served as the Pastor of Immanuel since 2019. He was ordained to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament in 2002 and has served full-time in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) since 1994. Before coming to Immanuel, Drew worked with congregations in Placitas, New Mexico, Birmingham, Alabama, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
As the Pastor of Immanuel, Drew works alongside and leads both the congregation and church staff. He is moderator of Session and an active member of the Presbytery of Santa Fe. Drew is the primary preacher and worship leader for the congregation. He is also deeply engaged in the local community and is working to help Immanuel develop a Sacred Place - Civic Space model of being church here in the heart of Nob Hill.
Drew loves the outdoors and enjoys travel. He is a concert-goer and plays around on the fiddle. He loves to cook and relishes time of offering hospitality to family and friends. Drew is a divorced father of two young adult sons. He loves being their dad. También le gusta hablar español.
Chad Poole
Chad joined the Immanuel staff as Bookkeeper in 2019. A native of northern New York, Chad came to New Mexico for college and graduate school and never left. His finance and CPA background gives Chad great skills to serve local churches, as well as the Presbytery of Santa Fe.
Chad describes his role as providing tools so the church can make wise decisions. In partnership with the Treasurer and Finance Committee, Chad makes sure Immanuel has the financial statements and accounting services needed. He ensures all funds are properly handled and that gifts are received and acknowledged appropriately. Chad dedicates himself to the stewardship of the resources entrusted to our care.
Chad likes going places that make him happy - like the theatre and concerts. He enjoys woodworking and fiddling about in the yard. You should see his flowers! He is also an excellent servant to his cat.
